Morocco is experiencing an exceptional cultural and artistic momentum, driven by the enlightened Vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, said the President of the National Foundation of Museums (FNM), Mehdi Qotbi.
In an interview published on Tuesday by the Spanish daily Ultima Hora, Qotbi affirmed that the Kingdom “is living to the rhythm of an exceptional cultural and artistic dynamic,” propelled by the will and vision of His Majesty the King, who has made culture a central pillar of Morocco’s influence.
Emphasizing that the Sovereign has placed art and culture at the heart of His vision for a modern Morocco, he noted that one of the main pillars of this momentum is the democratization of access to culture, a constant priority within this Royal approach.
In this regard, Qotbi praised the significant progress made in this area, starting with bringing museums closer to the general public.
“Students, teachers, and professionals in the cultural sector can freely access museums throughout the week, and admission is free for the general public every Friday,” he pointed out.
Qotbi also stressed that Moroccans are showing a strong enthusiasm for this cultural openness, as evidenced by the large attendance during “Museum Night,” held last June 26, and the major exhibition dedicated to Picasso.
Highlighting the essential role of culture in fostering open-mindedness and embracing diversity, the FNM president stated that Morocco today stands out as a model of coexistence.
