Prospects for strengthening economic and industrial cooperation between Morocco and South American countries were at the center of talks held on Wednesday in Rabat between the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, and the President of the Parliament of the Southern Common Market (Mercosur), Rodrigo Gamarra, who is on a working visit to Morocco.
This visit is part of the partnership that the Kingdom is developing with South American countries, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI. On this occasion, Mezzour and Gamarra highlighted their shared determination to translate this partnership into concrete, high-impact projects and initiatives.
In this regard, the Minister of Industry and Trade emphasized that Morocco is experiencing sustained economic development and the rollout of major structural projects, paving the way for new opportunities for cooperation.
He also underscored the prospects for investment and the strengthening of trade exchanges, as well as the importance of political dialogue on issues of common interest.
For his part, Gamarra indicated that the discussions focused on areas of shared interest, particularly industry, job creation, production, and economic development.
He further highlighted the considerable potential of South America as a strategic partner for Africa, affirming that Morocco serves as a gateway to the Arab world.
Gamarra expressed his wish to see major joint projects emerge in the short term and praised the initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom in the industrial sector.
He said he was impressed by the dynamism of work and production observed, expressing the ambition to make Mercosur a bridge to South America within the framework of a mutually beneficial partnership.
