Morocco stands out as one of the safest countries in Africa for doing business, thanks to the rapid modernization of its economy and its political and economic stability, writes the Spanish newspaper ‘La Vanguardia’ on Sunday.
According to the daily, the growing presence of Spanish companies in Morocco reflects a heightened interest in the opportunities the Kingdom offers, both in terms of direct investment and industrial partnerships.
Highlighting a recent economic mission to Marrakech by Catalan business leaders and experts, organized by the “Harvard Group,” a platform of Spanish business executives, the newspaper notes that the objective of this initiative was to closely assess the evolution of the business climate in Morocco and identify promising areas for partnership.
Reviewing the numerous investment opportunities Morocco offers, the publication underlines the stability of its macroeconomic framework, its openness to international markets, and the ongoing transformation across several key sectors.
According to La Vanguardia, participants in the economic mission to Morocco had the opportunity to witness firsthand the country’s progress in infrastructure, logistics, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, the automotive sector, and tourism, underscoring that the Kingdom is now emerging as a major strategic partner in North Africa.
The Spanish media outlet also highlighted the robustness of Morocco’s macroeconomic framework, marked notably by controlled inflation, the stability of the national currency, and free trade agreements with markets representing over 2.5 billion consumers.
The tourism sector also drew the attention of participants, who praised the model developed by the city of Marrakech, combining international quality standards with the enhancement of cultural heritage, according to the newspaper.
This positioning, they noted, is particularly well-suited to the new expectations of visitors seeking authentic, sustainable experiences that respect local specificities, the publication adds.
The economic mission to Marrakech allowed participants to witness the rapid modernization of Morocco’s economy and to make recommendations for a structured bilateral cooperation, based on resource complementarity, geographic proximity, and a shared vision of regional development, the same source notes.
