The number of businesses created in Morocco reached 72,343 during the first eight months of 2025, an increase of 17.5% compared to the same period in 2024.
The Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, noted during Monday’s session at the House of Representatives that the number of businesses that ceased operations over the same period did not exceed 15,000.
He also noted that companies that regularly declare their employees have seen a notable increase, according to data from the National Social Security Fund (CNSS). Their number, which stood at 255,000 companies in 2019, reached 344,000 by the end of 2024, representing a 34% rise compared to the pre-Covid period.
Monitoring these indicators is based on statistics from the Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC), as well as data from the CNSS, the minister added.
