The Kingdom of Morocco stands out as a major player in Safran’s industrial strategy due to its competitiveness and the quality of its talent, stated Séverine Charrie-Lamothe, Director of the Group’s Landing Gear & Integration Division.

In a statement to the press during the presentation and launch ceremony for the construction of a Safran Group landing gear production plant in Nouaceur—presided over on Friday at the Royal Palace in Casablanca by His Majesty King Mohammed VI—the official highlighted that this new site, which is expected to mobilize an investment of over 280 million euros, will contribute to further improving Safran’s resilience and competitiveness.

“This new infrastructure is poised to strengthen the production of our landing gears for short- and medium-haul aircraft and to support the production ramp-up of the Airbus A320 family,” she said.

According to her, this factory constitutes a “major element” of Safran’s industrial supply chain, and she praised the expertise of Moroccan talent and their proven skills in the aeronautics sector.

The Safran official indicated that the future factory intends to produce its first parts as early as 2029, adding that the site is expected to employ approximately 500 qualified professionals. These employees will benefit from support provided by local stakeholders within the framework of a specific training plan designed to meet tooling requirements.

Furthermore, she expressed pride that Safran counts Morocco as a major partner, adding that the Group employs nearly 5,000 workers across a dozen companies established in the Kingdom. “It is the continuation of a large-scale strategic partnership,” she noted with satisfaction.
