Morocco’s cabinet on Thursday reviewed two international agreements and a related draft law, as part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic and sectoral cooperation.
The agreements, presented by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, include a fisheries and aquaculture cooperation deal between Morocco and Benin, signed in Cotonou on February 15, 2024, Government spokesperson Mustapha Baitas said at a press briefing.
The fisheries pact sets the framework for collaboration in maritime training, scientific and technical research, fisheries regulation, processing industries, and aquaculture development. It includes provisions for joint training programs, capacity-building initiatives, and study visits to enhance expertise in maritime education systems in both countries.
The second agreement focuses on cooperation in higher education, scientific research, and innovation between Morocco and Angola. It aims to expand academic partnerships by facilitating researcher exchanges, skill development programs for faculty and administrative staff, and collaboration in creating new university courses and institutions.
