Morocco’s Dams Filling Up to 46% Compared to 28% Last Year

The dam fill rate in Morocco stood at 46.03% (over 7.71 billion m³) on Monday, compared with 28.31% recorded at the same time last year, according to data published on the “Maghreb Assoudoud” platform.

The Bouregreg basin recorded, as of Monday, a filling rate of 94.98%, with water resources estimated at 1.27 billion m³, supported in particular by the high level of the Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah dam, whose fill rate reached 99.25%, the same platform reporting to the Ministry of Equipment and Water indicates.

In Tensift, the fill rate is approximately 71.33%, corresponding to a volume of 162.13 million m³, while the Loukkos basin recorded a rate of 62.89%, with water resources of around 1.20 billion m³.

The Sebou basin, for its part, showed a fill rate of 54.81%, for a volume of 3.43 billion m³, supported by substantial water resources, particularly at the Bab Louta, Allal El Fassi, and Bouhouda dams.

Furthermore, the Draa-Oued Noun basin recorded a fill rate of 29.83%, with a volume of 312.66 million m³, while the Oum Er Rbia basin displayed a rate of 20.8%, corresponding to water resources of 1.30 billion m³.
