Morocco’s public prosecutor’s office, following probe into the case of an individual thrown out of an office window in the fourth floor of the headquarters of the National Judicial Police Brigade (BNPJ) in Casablanca, elected to close the case due to the absence of any elements constituting a crime.

In a statement, the King’s Prosecutor General at the Casablanca Court of Appeal pointed out that on the basis of the prosecutor’s statement on February 19, 2026, according to which the public opinion has been informed of the case, which was the object of a criminal investigation, of an individual ejected from a window on the fourth floor of the BNPJ headquarters in Casablanca, which has caused serious injury, eventually leading to his death at the hospital, the prosecutor had ordered to open a deep criminal investigation into the incident, which the judicial police in Casablanca had been tasked of, to guarantee a neutral and independent investigation.

According to the same source, the investigation involved interviewing the police officers who were tasked with conducting the interrogation of the deceased at the BNPJ. It also included necessary findings made by crime scene technicians and the collection of samples, in addition to the extraction of footage from the surveillance camera located in the courtyard of the brigade’s headquarters. The investigations concluded that the deceased voluntarily jumped from the window, a finding confirmed by the surveillance camera recordings, resulting in very serious injuries that led to his death.

This result was confirmed by the autopsy report conducted by a tripartite medical commission composed of forensic pathologists, stating that the death was due to complications resulting from multiple head traumas and fractures to the skull, facial bones, ribs, and femur, accompanied by a cerebral hemorrhage, and that the multiple injuries are consistent with an intentional fall.

The forensic analysis conducted on the deceased’s blood samples, as well as the contents of his stomach and urine, revealed the absence of any foreign chemical or organic substances.

Similarly, the scientific and technical examination of the objects found at the site of the deceased’s fall, and their comparison with the associated biological traces, revealed the presence of a single genetic profile belonging exclusively to the deceased. No other genetic profile was detected, which is consistent with the investigation’s conclusions regarding the individual’s intentional fall from the 4th floor.

Based on the results of these investigations, the public prosecutor’s office has decided to close the case due to the absence of any elements constituting a crime, the press release concludes.
