Thanks to the insightful vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco’s Southern Provinces stand out as a hub for cutting-edge infrastructure and socio-economic modernization at the regional level and beyond, underlined US expert Samuel Millner.
This virtuous dynamic of multidimensional development in this part of the Kingdom is the result of an integration vision that enshrines Morocco’s legitimate rights over its entire territory, including the Southern Provinces, noted the professor and researcher at the George Mason Law Center for the Middle East and International Law, in a statement to MAP.
He further pointed out that this ambitious integration vision further strengthens the Kingdom’s commitment to its strategic depth and natural extension in Africa, noting that the Royal Initiative for Atlantic Africa is perfectly aligned with this vision championed by His Majesty the King. “The Africa-Atlantic Initiative extends this logic outward, situating the Sahara within a geo-economic continuum linking the Maghreb to West Africa,” the expert explained.
Referring to the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, enshrined in the recent UN Security Council resolution as the basis for resolving the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, Samuel Millner stated that this plan provides the pragmatic framework reconciling national sovereignty with local governance.
