The Moroccan tourism sector has confirmed its growth dynamic with 894,000 direct jobs in 2025, a level that already exceeds the objective set in the 2023-2026 roadmap, which anticipated the creation of 80,000 additional jobs by 2026, the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy has announced.

According to the latest data from the High Commission for Planning (HCP), the Moroccan tourism sector generated 894,000 direct jobs in 2025. This represents 92,000 jobs created in three years, thus surpassing the target of 80,000 set for 2026, the ministry stated in a press release.

This performance is part of a positive scorecard across the board: tourist arrivals reached nearly 20 million visitors in 2025, whereas the roadmap’s objective was 17.5 million for 2026, the same source noted.

Travel revenues, meanwhile, stood at 138 billion dirhams, which is 18 billion dirhams more than the target set for 2026.

On this occasion, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, stated that “the ultimate goal of all the actions undertaken within the framework of the 2023-2026 roadmap is to have a concrete impact on citizens.”

“These figures confirm the relevance of the implemented strategy and the role of tourism as a lever for growth and the creation of opportunities,” Ammor added.
