The Republic of North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timčo Mucunski, expressed on Monday his country’s readiness to enhance cooperation with Morocco, particularly in economy and business.
“As we approach the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of North Macedonia, we believe the time is right to intensify our bilateral cooperation in economic and business sectors,” Mucunski said during a joint press conference with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.
Mucunski noted that discussions with Bourita included the potential launch of a direct air link between the two countries and ways to explore investment opportunities beneficial to companies on both sides.
Highlighting the “shared strategic values” between Rabat and Skopje, the North Macedonian minister said the two parties discussed plans to organize an economic forum in Morocco, bringing together business leaders from both countries to examine prospects for joint investment and broader trade cooperation.
“These are areas where we believe there is significant common potential,” he emphasized.
He also underscored Morocco’s strategic relations with the European Union, which North Macedonia “aspires to join,” as well as Rabat’s strong partnerships with the United States and the United Kingdom, “two countries with which we also share strategic ties.”
