Morocco’s National Tourism Office (ONMT) announced that summer 2025 is off to a promising start thanks to the launch of dozens of point-to-point routes connecting Moroccan cities directly to international destinations.
As part of its “Light In Action” strategy, the ONMT is partnering with international airlines to open and renew 40 direct routes. The goal is to improve access toMorocco for travelers worldwide, both to popular destinations, as well as regions that are still under the radar.
Agadir will see three new direct routes: two with Transavia from Bordeaux and Amsterdam, and one from Bournemouth with Jet2. Flights from Oslo, Berlin, Bristol, and Edinburgh will also continue, adding up to nearly 73,000 seats this summer.
The ONMT is rolling out even more connections in Marrakech with new routes including Bordeaux, with Transavia and Volotea, Malaga, Edinburgh, and London Stansted, with EasyJet, and Leeds and Newcastle, with Jet2. Popular routes to cities like Amsterdam, Helsinki, Birmingham, Liverpool, Rome, Budapest, and Bucharest are also being renewed. Altogether, these routes will bring over 160,000 new seats to the city.
The coastal city of Essaouira is getting a major tourism boost with six new flights from Nantes, Seville, Barcelona, Lyon, Rabat, and Paris. These additions will offer more than 38,000 extra seats, making it easier for travelers seeking culture, nature and a laid-back atmosphere to reach the picturesque city.
The new additions will also benefit other cities like Fez, which will get a new connection from Lille, Rabat with added flights from Dublin, Manchester, and Malaga, while Tangier will welcome renewed routes from Bordeaux and Girona, along with a new flight from Copenhagen.
Further south, Dakhla will continue to be served from Madrid and Lanzarote, and a new domestic route will connect Tangier and Beni Mellal, supporting more inclusive national tourism development. The ONMT also announced that many more connections are currently being negotiated.
ONMT stressed that the strategy is focused on improving the overall quality of Morocco’s tourism while lifting the challenges of regional isolation. “By focusing on point-to-point flights and a varied range of destinations, Morocco is positioning itself to strengthen its place as a top choice in the travel plans of influencers and international tourists,” concludes the statement.
