Palestinian Agriculture Minister Rizq Salimia on Wednesday praised the continued support of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency for farmers in the Al-Quds region, highlighting its role in boosting agricultural development in the city.

Speaking after talks with Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, the Agency’s Director, Salimia noted the Agency’s backing—carried out under the directives of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee—includes equipment for olive harvesting and promotion of olive-based products, a key crop in the region.

The discussions focused on expanding support for Al Quds farmers through projects such as irrigation tank construction and olive seedling distribution, as well as planned initiatives to strengthen agricultural resilience.

Salimia expressed appreciation for Morocco’s broader support for Palestinians across sectors including health, education, and agriculture, in Gaza, the West Bank, and Al-Quds.

Cherkaoui said the visit provided an opportunity to explore new development initiatives and strengthen efforts to protect agricultural land in the Holy City, while also supporting innovation, youth-led projects, and modern irrigation systems.

Salimia is leading a Palestinian delegation of 10 companies participating for the first time in the International Agricultural Show in Morocco (SIAM), taking place in Meknes.
