PAM: Upper House Speaker Holds Series of Talks in Braga

Speaker of the House of Advisors, Enaam Mayara, held a series of bilateral talks on the sidelines of the 18th plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), which is taking place on May 15-16 in Braga (Portugal).

Mayara held talks with speaker of the Republic of Montenegro’s Parliament, Andrija Mandic, speaker of the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Parliament, Nebojsa Radmanovic, and head of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, on ways of strengthening bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation.

During his meeting with the speaker of Montenegro’s Parliament, Mayara commended the strength of bilateral relations, expressing his desire to develop ties between the two parliamentary institutions, with a view to raising them to the level of the good relations uniting the two countries.

On this occasion, he called for an intensified exchange of visits between the two parties, the sharing of experiences and the strengthening of coordination and consultation within international forums on issues of common interest, noting that the two countries constitute a model of peace and stability in the Mediterranean region.

For his part, Mandic expressed his country’s willingness to develop bilateral relations with the Kingdom in various areas of common interest, praising the role played by Morocco in promoting peace and stability in the region.

During his discussions with the speaker of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s Parliament, Mayara stressed the importance of consultation and cooperation between the two legislative institutions, and of exploring new partnership opportunities between the Kingdom and the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina, particularly in view of the great potential and opportunities for cooperation and investment in various fields.

On this occasion, the upper house speaker stressed the importance of taking advantage of the strategic position of the two countries to deepen their cooperation in all fields.

Radmanovic underlined the role of parliamentary diplomacy in promoting cooperation between Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Kingdom of Morocco, highlighting the convergence of views between the two countries on many regional and international issues.

In addition, Mayara’s meeting with the head of the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was an opportunity to reaffirm their determination to consolidate existing cooperation between the House of Advisors and the Shura Council of Saudi Arabia, within the framework of the strong and fraternal relations between the two kingdoms.
