Moroccan boxer Widad Bertal on Tuesday qualified for the under 54 kg category quarter-finals at the Paris-2024 Olympic Games.
Bertal bested Thailand’s Jutamas Jitpong 3-2 in the round of 16.
Last Sunday, Moroccan boxer Yasmine Mouttaki was eliminated in the under 50kg round of 16 by Philippines’ Aira Villegas on a unanimous decision by the judges (5-0).
Morocco’s National boxing is also represented at these Games by Khadija El Mardi (75 kg).
In judo, Morocco’s Achraf Moutii was eliminated on Tuesday by Korea’s Lee Joonhwan by waza-ari in the under 81 kg category round of 16.
