The Kingdom of Morocco is organizing until May 3 in Rabat, in partnership with the African Union Commission, the third edition of the Specialized Training for African Union Election Observers.

The opening ceremony will be presided over this Tuesday by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security of the African Union.

This specialized training for AU election observers is part of the Kingdom of Morocco’s commitment, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to achieving strategic goals aimed at consolidating democratic governance and practice in Africa, for a stable, peaceful and prosperous continent.

It also responds to the calls made by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, notably the last Summit of the Union, held in February 2024, for the Kingdom of Morocco to continue strengthening African capacities to improve the professional conduct of electoral observation missions.

This third edition, held in a specific context marked by several electoral events in Africa, builds on the success of the previous sessions, held in Rabat in 2022 and 2023. It is an integral part of the strong partnership between the Kingdom of Morocco and the African Union to promote political governance in Africa.
