The Moroccan Parliament will host the 5th session of the Morocco–France Parliamentary Forum, on January 29 and 30.

The session will be co-chaired by the Speaker of the Lower House Rachid Talbi El Alami, and the Speaker of the Upper House Mohamed Ould Errachid, on the Moroccan side, and the President of the Senate, Gérard Larcher, and the President of the National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet, on the French side, according to a statement from the parliament.

The agenda includes four thematic sessions bringing together parliamentarians from both countries, during which strategic issues will be discussed. In this regard, the first session will focus on new horizons for bilateral cooperation, while the second will address the theme of security and the fight against terrorism and organized crime.

Within the same framework, the third session will deal with women’s rights and participation in public life, while the fourth will be devoted to energy transition and renewable energies.

These sessions will be marked by the significant participation of several Moroccan ministers and officials from the sectors concerned. The Forum will also feature intensive diplomatic activity and bilateral meetings between the two sides.

The proceedings of this Forum, which will see the participation of a high-level French parliamentary delegation composed of members of the Senate and the National Assembly, will conclude with the adoption of a final declaration containing the Forum’s conclusions.

The Morocco–France Parliamentary Forum has built a distinguished process of institutional dialogue since its first session in 2013 in Rabat, followed by a second session in Paris in 2015. The third session was held in Rabat in 2018, while the 4th session took place in Paris in 2019.

This event serves as a strategic platform for dialogue, consultation, and the exchange of views between Moroccan parliamentarians and their French counterparts, with a view to coordinating positions and examining the various issues of common interest between the two countries.
