His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s Speech on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the Sovereign’s accession to the Throne of His glorious ancestors reflects the Kingdom of Morocco’s prominent position as a stabilizing force in the Maghreb and Africa, emphasized the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cape Verde, Luís Filipe Tavares.

In a statement to MAP, Tavares said that Morocco’s role as a stabilizing force in the Maghreb and Africa makes the Kingdom a trusted partner for African countries, Europe, the Arab world, and beyond.

“In this period of major geopolitical change, Morocco presents itself to the world as an emerging and modern country thanks to its visionary leadership,” he added.

Furthermore, the former Cape Verdean foreign minister noted that the Royal Speech presented a clear vision of the present and a courageous assessment of the challenges facing the Kingdom in order to achieve integrated development and enshrine the principle of territorial equity.

In this regard, he said that His Majesty the King has emphasized the economic progress made by the Kingdom, particularly within the framework of the New Development Model, without overlooking existing disparities, especially in rural areas.

The clarity of this assessment reveals the firm determination of a Sovereign who is committed to addressing these inequalities through a new generation of territorial development programs aimed at achieving territorial and spatial justice and promoting productive inclusion, Tavares said.

“The Royal Speech will remain an important milestone not only because of the solemnity of the occasion, but above all because of the strength of the message,” he concluded.
