Morocco offers a model in healthcare education with modern facilities and forward-looking strategies, a delegation from the Atlantic Federation of African Press Agencies (FAAPA) highlighted on Friday in Marrakech, praising a Royal Vision that paves the way for excellence and innovation in Africa.

During a visit to the temporary campus of the Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences (UM6SS) in Marrakech, under the Mohammed VI Foundation for Health Sciences (FM6SS), the FAAPA delegation expressed admiration for the quality of training provided by the institution, in line with the Royal approach to making Morocco a hub of medical knowledge.

During the visit, organized alongside the 9th General Assembly of the Federation, the delegation attended a detailed presentation on the missions and initiatives of FM6SS aimed at meeting the growing need for healthcare professionals in Morocco and Africa and providing equitable access to state-of-the-art health services.

They were also given extensive explanations about the range of advanced training programs offered across the Foundation’s various institutions, which was established in 2014 to realize the Royal initiative to fundamentally reform the national healthcare system.

“We are amazed by the achievements and quality of the medical training facilities established under an ambitious Royal Vision,” emphasized Dalatou Malam Mamane, Director General of the Nigerien Press Agency.

This vision is “a guiding light for Africa, which appreciates Morocco’s leadership in all fields, including healthcare,” he added in a statement to MAP, noting that Morocco provides a center of training excellence for young Africans across all disciplines, including medicine.

Similarly, Bienvenu-Marie Bakwala Bakumanya, Director General of the Congolese Press Agency, expressed admiration for Morocco’s accomplishments in healthcare, noting that the Kingdom is setting an example for other African countries.

“This Royal Vision is highly valued because it contributes, through modern infrastructure and quality training adapted to the realities of the continent, to Africa’s health sovereignty,” he said.

He expressed hope that other African countries, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, could benefit from Morocco’s experience through South-South cooperation.

In the same vein, Fausséni Dembélé, Director General of the Ivorian Press Agency, noted that the Foundation lives up to HM the King’s ambitions for Morocco and His vision for the continent as a whole.

“The Foundation demonstrates Africans’ capacity today to address all health-related challenges,” he said, adding that it constitutes “a powerful tool for continental integration and a model to achieve true health sovereignty in Africa.”

For his part, A Trokon Tarr, Director General of the Liberian Press Agency, stated that under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, Morocco has achieved a remarkable level of excellence in healthcare, reflected both in the quality of UM6SS infrastructure and the dynamism of its activities.

“This momentum opens the way for African nations to strengthen cooperation with Morocco in service of the continent’s populations,” he said, expressing gratitude to the Sovereign for his continuous efforts to implement his vision for the shared development of Morocco and Africa.
