Several Moroccan Provinces Expect Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain, Strong Wind Gusts on Thursday

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for Thursday in several provinces of the Kingdom, according to the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM).

Heavy rain and thunderstorms (50 to 90 mm) are expected on Thursday from midnight to 11 p.m. in Chefchaouen and Tetouan, according to the DGM in an orange-level alert bulletin.

During the same period, the same phenomenon (30-50 mm) is expected to affect the provinces of Larache, Al Hoceima, Fahs-Anjra, and M’Diq-Fnideq, with between 20 and 30 mm recorded in Tangier-Assilah, Taounate, Taza and Ouazzane.

Strong wind gusts (75 to 90 km/h) are also forecast for Thursday from midnight to 11:00 p.m. in the provinces of Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Tangier-Assilah, Tetouan, M’Diq-Fnideq, Taroudant, Ouarzazate, Midelt, Kenitra, Berkane, Driouch, Figuig, Nador, Oujda-Angad, El Jadida, Safi, Sidi Bennour, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Boulemane, Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taouante, Taza, Chefchaouen and Taourirt.
