The new support mechanism for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) is fully in line with the comprehensive and integrated approach to far-reaching economic reforms undertaken by Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, said Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch on Tuesday in Errachidia.
Speaking on a national meeting dedicated to the official launch of the new support mechanism for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), Akhannouch stated that this new mechanism reflects HM the King’s enlightened vision of promoting investment as a key driver of the national economy, ensuring inclusive and sustainable development, and creating jobs, particularly for young people.
“MSMEs are the driving force behind the national economy, accounting for more than 90% of our country’s entrepreneurial fabric and representing a real engine for wealth and job creation,” notes Akhannouch.
In this regard, he said, the new support mechanism for MSMEs is designed to support this important category of businesses through a set of support mechanisms that take into account the specific economic characteristics of each region, with the aim of ensuring social and spatial equity.
In the same context, the government has set about implementing measures to improve the business climate through the 2023-2026 roadmap, explains the Head of Government, citing, in this regard, the simplification of investment procedures, facilitating the electronic creation of businesses and activating digital platforms such as the CRI-Invest platform, implementing an ambitious structural reform of the tax system, and reducing payment delays.
The new support mechanism for micro-enterprises provides access to three types of investment aid: aid for the creation of permanent jobs, regional aid to increase the attractiveness of certain regions for investment, and aid for priority activities, intended to direct investment towards promising sectors and future-oriented professions. This support can cover up to 30% of the eligible investment amount, with the possibility of combining this aid with that offered by the regions.
