The Swiss-Moroccan Economic Cooperation Program 2025–2028, launched on Tuesday in Rabat, represents a strategic vision for a strengthened partnership between the two countries.
Presented by the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), this new program designates Morocco as a priority country for Swiss cooperation, and is backed by a bilateral budget of 25 million Swiss francs and places strong emphasis on competitiveness and employment, particularly in regions with high economic potential.
Fully aligned with the priorities of Morocco’s New Development Model, the program contributes to fostering inclusive growth, creating sustainable jobs, and strengthening the investment climate.
It aims to reduce regional disparities and support sustainable economic transformation by focusing its interventions on areas with high economic potential, while maintaining the flexibility to act where its impact can be most significant.
Switzerland’s ambassador to Morocco Valentin Zellweger stated that Morocco is now a priority country for Swiss cooperation, a choice he described as an expression of “deep and mutual trust” and a shared determination to build a forward-looking partnership.
He praised the Kingdom’s strengths, including its political stability, economic dynamism, and transformative capacity, which make Morocco “a crossroads of ideas, innovation, and opportunities,” as well as a regional catalyst for sustainable growth.
According to him, the goal is to support Morocco’s economic transformation through innovative, inclusive, and resilient growth, particularly by strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem, improving access to finance, and aligning skills with labor market needs.
