The Moroccan national team has reached its final destination before the tournament begins, settling into the Mohammed VI football complex in Maâmora. The squad is now in the final phase of preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), starting on home soil on December 21.
The first training session is officially in the books. According to the FRMF, the national team hit the field in a focused, disciplined atmosphere, zeroing in on regaining peak fitness and tweaking those initial tactical setups. This workout was truly the official start of the squad’s final preparations right here at home. The vibe is serious as the tournament countdown begins.
Player fitness remains a key focus inside the camp. Achraf Hakimi, who is recovering from a recent ankle injury, has rejoined the group and is following a tailored rehabilitation programme. The full-back is working hard to be ready for Morocco’s opening match against Comoros, and there is growing confidence within the squad that he will be fit in time.
Under coach Walid Regragui, the final training sessions at the Maâmora complex are centered on achieving peak tactical cohesion, fitness levels, and mental readiness.
The tournament is now five days away and the focus is now more on managing the intensity and pressure that come with a home AFCON.
