Russia has praised the quality of its long-standing relations with Morocco, as expressed by its Deputy Foreign Minister, Aleksandr Pankin.
“Russia has long-standing relations with Morocco and has deep respect for the august person of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people,” Pankin told MAP at a reception hosted by Morocco’s ambassador to Russia, Lotfi Bouchaara, on the occasion of the Glorious Throne Day.
In this context, he noted that the entire scope of the bilateral partnership, whether economic, cultural, or in terms of investment, is “highly valued” by Moscow, adding that both countries have “significant potential” to deepen their cooperation.
“I’m confident that we have very strong potential to drive along this avenue with fuller speed,” he said, praising the place the Kingdom occupies on the international stage, particularly in Africa and the Arab world.
On the economic front, Pankin pointed to a notable increase in trade, particularly in the tourism sector. “Undeniable progress has been made,” he said, emphasizing the role that direct air connections between the two countries have played in boosting the development of bilateral relations.
