The Speech of His Majesty King Mohammed VI on the glorious Throne Day reflects Morocco’s unwavering commitment, under the Sovereign’s leadership, to revitalizing and strengthening the Maghreb Union to which Morocco remains deeply attached, former Senegalese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mankeur Ndiaye, said.
In a statement to MAP, Ndiaye highlighted the depth of this attachment and the spirit of openness that characterizes His Majesty the King’s policy of extending a hand to the Algerian people.
The Royal Speech also highlighted the growing support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara, which has been further strengthened by the support expressed by the United Kingdom and Portugal for Morocco’s autonomy initiative, the former minister pointed out.
He added that since His accession to the Throne 26 years ago, the Sovereign has “transformed the Kingdom into an emerging country that is both modern, attached to its millennial traditions and deeply rooted in its African roots.”
Since its return to its African family in January 2017, Morocco has made an invaluable contribution to strengthening African cooperation and integration through a highly appreciated policy of solidarity, he said.
