Morocco and Türkiye have enormous potential to further bolster their economic cooperation, Turkish Deputy Minister of Trade Mustafa Tuzcu said on Thursday in Salé, during a working visit to Morocco accompanied by a large delegation from the private sector.
Speaking at a working meeting between Turkish private operators and their Moroccan peers, attended by Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Omar Hejira, Tuzcu highlighted the strong economic interdependence between the two countries in key sectors such as industry and agriculture.
To him, this dynamic offers enormous opportunities for development and deeper strategic partnership.
For his part, Hejira stressed the need to improve cooperation in foreign trade and investment, with a particular focus on strengthening Moroccan exports to the Turkish market.
Hejira also noted the importance of developing Turkish investment in Morocco, supporting the revitalization of bilateral economic relations.
The prospects for commercial development between Morocco and Türkiye are promising, he said, adding that both countries are committed to diversifying and intensifying their trade relations.
Tuzcu’s visit to Morocco at the head of this delegation of more than 20 companies representing various sectors of the Turkish economy follows the joint statement issued last June, which marks a new stage in formalizing the two countries’ commitment to a fair and sustainable economic alliance.
It demonstrates the relevance of the joint approach and the concrete interest of Moroccan and Turkish investors in exploring mutually beneficial investment opportunities and prospects for enhanced cooperation in priority sectors.
On this occasion, the parties agreed to identify new opportunities between private operators in both countries in high-potential sectors and to encourage Turkish companies investments in Morocco, including in the textile sector.
To this end, a business forum will be scheduled in Istanbul in mid-November 2025 to give way to operational projects that serve the economic growth and interests of both countries.
While emphasizing the importance of the free trade agreement between Morocco and Türkiye, the two parties decided to expand preferential access for Moroccan agricultural products to the Turkish market and set up a joint working group to define the products concerned.
