Two people lost their lives and four others were injured, with varying degrees of severity, following the partial collapse on Monday in the Akkari neighborhood of Rabat of a building consisting of a ground floor for commercial use and two floors occupied by a single family, according to local authorities of the Rabat Prefecture.
Immediately informed of the incident, local and security authorities, along with Civil Protection services, rushed to the scene to carry out search and rescue operations and take all necessary measures, including securing the perimeter around the partially collapsed building and the neighboring structures.
The injured were quickly transported to the hospital to undergo examinations and receive necessary medical care.
An investigation has also been opened by the competent authorities, under the supervision of the relevant Public Prosecutor’s Office, to determine the circumstances of the incident.
