The United Nations has lauded the “generosity” of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, following the dispatch, on the Sovereign’s Very High Instructions, of “significant” additional humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

“We commend the generosity and decision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to send significant humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza,” Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, told MAP.

In this regard, he emphasized the beneficial impact of the aid ordered by the Sovereign, given the “catastrophic” conditions currently endured by the inhabitants of Gaza.

“The people of Gaza lack everything – food, medicine, shelter…,”  Dujarric regretted, stressing the necessity for the international community to “spare no efforts” to improve the humanitarian situation of Palestinians.

The spokesperson also urged “pressure on the parties to accept an immediate ceasefire.”

The humanitarian aid ordered by His Majesty the King consists of approximately 100 tons of foodstuffs and medicine, specifically intended for vulnerable groups, particularly children and infants.

His Majesty the King, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, insisted that this humanitarian aid, like the previous ones, be transported by air and delivered urgently and directly to beneficiaries among Palestinian brothers.
