The historic UN Security Council’s resolution on the Moroccan Sahara is a “masterstroke” of the enlightened and decisive diplomacy of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, writes The National Interest.
The renowned U.S. magazine points out that this resolution, which considers the Autonomy Initiative as the basis for resolving the artificial dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, marks a historic turning point capable of opening a credible path towards stability and the hope of a better future.
Thanks to the proactive and bold diplomacy of His Majesty the King, Morocco is charting a “singular course path, one that unites sovereignty and openness, identity and modernity”, emphasizing that “the march that began half a century ago has been transformed by HM King Mohammed VI into a march of development and peace”.
The magazine explains here that the Royal approach is based on the idea that a Nation can defend its territorial integrity while widening its horizons, and that patriotism, when fused with vision and diplomacy, can become a force for transformation.
In its analysis, the National Interest further underscores that His Majesty the King’s diplomacy, which favors moderation and dialogue, has made Morocco a respected partner among the world’s nations.
Referring to the strategic alliance between the Kingdom and the United States, the magazine notes that His Majesty the King was keen to give more substance to this privileged partnership, by ensuring that “shared ideals are transformed into shared actions”.
