Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi El Alami, held talks, on Wednesday in Rabat, with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, on the ways to promote parliamentary cooperation.
During this meeting, attended by Serbia’s Ambassador in Rabat, Ivan Bauer, both parties exchanged views on several issues of mutual parliamentary concern.
Talbi El Alami hailed the excellent bilateral relations in various fields and Serbia’s position regarding the kingdom’s territorial integrity, adding that the autonomy plan proposed by the Kingdom as a final resolution to the artificial conflict around the Moroccan Sahara enjoys broad international support.
The Speaker of the Lower House shed light on the various strategic continental initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to promote development in Africa, such as the Morocco-Nigeria gas pipeline project and the Atlantic Initiative that aims to enable the Sahel countries to access the Atlantic, as well as several agreements and projects that are meant to strengthen South-South cooperation with the Continent’s countries.
In a statement to the press, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, noted that this visit reflects the long-standing and strong friendship bonds between Serbia and Morocco, particularly at the parliamentary level. She also lauded the global development the Kingdom is witnessing under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
Brnabić, who is currently on an official visit to Morocco at the head of a large parliamentary delegation, also expressed her gratitude and thanks for Morocco’s position in support of the territorial integrity of the Republic of Serbia.
In the same vein, she expressed her hopes that her visit would contribute to reinforcing economic cooperation, underscoring the vital role of the two legislative institutions in this area through consolidating continuous dialogue and communication.
