Moroccan Horse Week 2025 (Senior Show Jumping): Abdeslam Bennani Smires Secures HM King Mohammed VI Grand Prix

Rider Abdeslam Bennani Smires, on his horse “Mister D’Eclipse”, secured HM King Mohammed VI Grand Prix on Sunday, as part of the Moroccan senior show jumping championship.

This championship was held as part of the 40th edition of Horse Week, organized on July 5-13 at the Royal Complex for Equestrian Sports and Tbourida in Dar Es Salam in Rabat, under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI.

In the two-round event, Bennani Smires clocked 78sec 41/100th and 2.77 penalty points in the first round, and a clear round in 52.56 in the second.

He came ahead of Ghali Boukaa on “Chester N”, who clocked 72.84 (clear) in the first run and 51.76 (4 pts penalty) in the second.

Third place went to Majid Djaidi on “Korino Van Den Muggenhoek”, with times of 75.78 (6.45 pts) and 52.76 (4 pts) respectively in the two final rounds.

At the end of the event, the President of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports (FRMSE), Moulay Abdallah Alaoui, presented the trophy to the winner and medals to the top three finishers in the Moroccan senior show jumping championship.

The 40th edition of Horse Week saw about 500 pairs of riders and horses compete in 20 different categories, vying for the title in show jumping and dressage.
