Alliance Sportive Casablanca (ASC) is set to write a new chapter for basketball in Morocco and Africa by hosting the first edition of the 2025 3×3 Morocco Tour, taking place from August 28 to 31 at Morocco Mall.

Held under the aegis of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), this tournament is part of the prestigious FIBA 3×3 Quest circuit, the official qualifier for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour, whose global final will be held in October 2025 in Macao, China, ASC says in a press release.

ASC was selected by FIBA to lead this groundbreaking project on the African continent. Drawing on its experience in youth development and in promoting an inclusive and educational approach to basketball, the association aims to make this stage not only a high-level competition, but also a showcase for the sustainable growth of 3×3 in Morocco.

Since its creation, ASC has multiplied initiatives in favor of sport-education, the training of coaches, and the integration of young female and male players, earning national and international recognition, says the same source.

“The 3×3 Morocco Tour perfectly reflects our ambition to establish Morocco as a key player in urban basketball and to offer Moroccan youth a unique platform to reach the global stage. By working closely with FIBA, we are positioning Casablanca among the select circle of cities hosting major international competitions,” said Amin Guerss, President of ASC.

By bringing together the top teams from the qualifying phases held in Rabat, Tangier, and Agadir, along with eight international squads traveling specifically for the event, ASC is

positioning Casablanca at the very heart of the global 3×3 calendar. The international dimension of the tournament will be highlighted by the participation of teams from across the world.

Alongside Morocco’s best formations, the public will witness the talents of players from Togo, Benin, Serbia, China, Lithuania, France, Brazil, Switzerland, Belgium, and Bahrain. Such diversity demonstrates the strong appeal of the 3×3 Morocco Tour and reinforces Casablanca’s ambition to become a must-attend destination on the FIBA world circuit. This tournament is both a decisive step for teams seeking a ticket to the World Tour Final and a unique opportunity for Morocco to showcase its ability to host top-tier international competitions.

For four days, Morocco Mall will be transformed into a true urban arena. The program will feature youth clinics, women’s and men’s competitions, and final rounds that promise a high-level spectacle. Beyond the games, an entertainment village will offer spectators an immersive experience with food courts, partner brand stands, giant board games, and a gaming station. The event is designed to be a festive celebration, combining top-level sporting performance with a vibrant atmosphere for the general public.

Beyond the visual show, the 3×3 Morocco Tour carries a strong strategic dimension. In partnership with FIBA-certified trainers, ASC is implementing a program to train referees and coaches specialized in 3×3. The aim is to build a sustainable structure for the discipline in Morocco, strengthen talent identification, and prepare a new generation capable of representing the country at major international events, including the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

ASC also views this tournament as a powerful lever to promote gender equality, give young people from all regions the opportunity to express themselves, and position basketball as a driver of social inclusion and cohesion.

The year 2025 also marks a historic milestone for Alliance Sportive Casablanca. The club secured its promotion to the Excellence Division for the 2025-2026 season and distinguished itself by winning the Moroccan national championship in both the men’s and women’s first divisions. This remarkable achievement, accomplished by a young organization, reflects the quality of the work carried out by ASC and confirms its position as a new pillar of Moroccan basketball.

FIBA, the global governing body of basketball, has supported the development of 3×3 since its official launch at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games. Recognized for its simplicity, speed, and appeal to younger generations, 3×3 was added to the Olympic program in 2017 and made its debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games. With its festive atmosphere, dynamic rules, and strong media exposure, 3×3 has established itself as the world’s number one urban team sport. The organization of this tournament by ASC reflects the trust placed in Morocco by FIBA to contribute to the expansion of the discipline on the continent.

With this first FIBA 3×3 Quest organized in Africa, Morocco is reaffirming its commitment to sport and youth while strengthening its international standing. True to its educational and sporting mission, ASC is confirming its role as a pioneer and catalyst in shaping the structure of 3×3 basketball both nationally and across the continent.
