Achraf Hakimi has been shortlisted alongside Oussama Lamlioui for the 2025 CAF African Player of the Year award, the Confederation of African Football announced on Wednesday.
The Moroccan defender, who won a historic quadruple with Paris Saint-Germain – Ligue 1, Champions League, Coupe de France and Trophée des Champions – and finished sixth in the Ballon d’Or, is among ten contenders for Africa’s top individual honour.
Hakimi is joined by compatriot Oussama Lamlioui, top scorer of both the African Nations Championship and the CAF Confederation Cup with RS Berkane, as well as Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen, Cameroon’s Frank Anguissa, Congo’s Fiston Mayele, Gabon’s Denis Bouanga, Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, and Senegal’s Iliman Ndiaye and Pape Matar Sarr.
The CAF Awards ceremony’s date and venue are yet to be announced.
