A partnership agreement was signed between the Moroccan Moroccan Association of the Presidents of the Councils of Prefectures and Province (AMPCPP) and the Association of Departments of France.
This partnership, sealed following the participation of an AMPCPP delegation in a forum organized by its French counterpart (November 12-13 in the French city of Albi), defines the areas of joint action and the means capable of facilitating partnerships between Moroccan and French councils with a view to implementing common projects serving the population.
This forum was held on the occasion of the general assembly of the Association of Departments of France with the participation of an AMPCPP delegation, led by its president and including members of its executive bureau.
This participation is part of the bilateral cooperation relations, initiated by the visit made last June to Morocco by the president of the Association of Departments of France, at the head of a large delegation which visited the cities of Rabat, Salé, Skhirat-Temara and Tangier, according to a press release from the AMPCPP.
This visit was an opportunity to examine the means of developing partnership and cooperation relations between the two parties, within the framework of the prerogatives devolved to them, the same source specifies, noting that the French delegation took advantage of its stay to discover several social establishments.
As part of their participation in the Albi forum, the members of the Moroccan delegation took part in several workshops on “Digitalization and the territorial space, towards genuine equity of access”, “Road networks and mobility: challenges and opportunities for the territories”, “Employment and inclusion: what new models of cooperation” and “The heritage of the regions: management, improvement, valorization, and consolidation”.
The French association was invited to hold its next meeting in Morocco in Dakhla, the same source informs, explaining that the meeting will thus offer the French party the opportunity to learn about the development dynamic experienced by the southern provinces of the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
Furthermore, the council presidents, members of the Moroccan delegation, held a series of bilateral meetings with their French counterparts, who were informed of the objectives of the AMPCPP and the evolution of the Moroccan experience in the fields of decentralization and local democracy in accordance with the Royal Vision.
They also focused on the means of forging cooperation relations with a view to exchanging experiences and expertise in areas of common interest in accordance with the prerogatives devolved to these territorial entities.
