Casablanca Mohammed V, Rabat-Salé, Marrakech-Menara, Agadir Al Massira, Fez-Saïss, and Tangier Ibn Battouta airports are hosting fan zones where passengers can watch the Atlas Lions’ fixtures live during the 2026 World Cup, Airports of Morocco (formerly the National Airports Office – ONDA) announced.
“On the occasion of 2026 World Cup and the sharp increase in air traffic due to the summer season, Airports of Morocco is rolling out exceptional measures to support travelers and transform the country’s airports into gathering spaces centered around the national team and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation,” states a press release from Airports of Morocco.
Equipped with giant screens and made to be welcoming social spaces, these fan zones offer everyone the opportunity to share the excitement, enthusiasm, and pride of following the national team’s journey while waiting for a flight.
This initiative comes amid a sharp increase in air traffic, driven both by vacationers heading out on vacation and by the many fans traveling to their destinations on special flights organized by Royal Air Maroc.
To handle this surge in activity, all Airports of Morocco teams are fully mobilized alongside all of its partners (the Ministry of the Interior, the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN), the Royal Gendarmerie, Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration, and the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, as well as Royal Air Maroc) and all operational stakeholders, to coordinate their efforts and ensure that passengers’ journeys are smooth, safe, and as comfortable as possible.
Several experiential activities have also been launched at airports featuring the colors of the Atlas Lions, offering travelers and fans an immersive experience in the world of the Moroccan national team.
Additional staff and operational resources have been deployed at major airports to anticipate peak traffic and provide travelers with an experience befitting this exceptional occasion.
