French Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade and Attractiveness Nicolas Forissier stated he was “very impressed” by Morocco’s “modernity” and the momentum in the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
In an interview with MAP, Forissier said he witnessed this momentum firsthand during his latest visit to Morocco, a country he considers a “priority” on his agenda as France’s Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade.
The minister conveyed his ambition to continue promoting a “win-win” bilateral relationship with the spirit of the Reinforced exceptional partnership established in October 2024 at the occasion of French President Emmanuel Macron’s State visit to Morocco at the invitation of the Sovereign.
“I was very impressed by the country’s modernity and by investments there, including by French companies,” the senior French official affirmed, citing in particular the reinforcement of French aerospace equipment manufacturer Safran’s presence in Morocco through a new factory in Casablanca.
The French minister also highlighted the quality of the Kingdom’s transport, energy and logistics infrastructure, which he said, “is developing at a remarkable pace in Morocco.”
“We can feel that the country is driven by an extremely dynamic vision of modernization,” describing the process as both gradual and rapid, he observed.
Regarding bilateral cooperation, Forissier said that “the unique partnerships we are capable of building also serve as models that can subsequently be useful, particularly on the African continent, in shaping the future, because we work first and foremost for the future, especially for younger generations that will succeed us.”
Commenting on the evolution of economic ties between the two countries, the French minister welcomed an “exceptional” partnership that has “considerably strengthened in recent years,” thanks to “a shared vision” embraced by the two Heads of State, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Emmanuel Macron.
“It is a strengthened, expanded partnership that is built for the long term,” he explained, thanks to “our companies, cross-investments, in support of the security of our supply chains and value chains.”
Trade between Morocco and France, estimated at more than €15 billion in 2025, has “more than doubled in less than ten years,” according to the French minister, who concluded that “all this clearly shows that we have made significant progress, and we will continue to do so.”
