Côte d’Ivoire aims to further strengthen its partnership with Morocco in the field of vocational training, stated Jean-Louis Moulot, the Ivorian Minister Delegate in charge of Technical Education, on Friday in Nouaceur.
Speaking during a visit to the City of Trades and Skills (CMC) in Nouaceur, the Ivorian official praised the progress made by the Kingdom in this sector, highlighting the quality of the training offered as well as its alignment with the needs of the labor market.
“Morocco stands out today as a reference model in vocational training, particularly through the innovative experience of the Cities of Trades and Skills,” he emphasized in a statement to the press, noting the relevance of this integrated approach, which aligns with the needs of the Ivorian labor market.
“This visit allows us to explore new prospects for cooperation and to benefit from Moroccan expertise to strengthen our vocational training system,” he indicated, reaffirming his country’s desire to strengthen this strategic partnership by exploring new collaboration opportunities to serve skills development and youth employability.
“The Ivorian minister’s visit falls within the framework of strengthening the partnership in the field of vocational training,” stressed, for her part, the Director General of the Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT), Loubna Tricha, noting that cooperation between the two countries has enabled the training of nearly 1,500 Ivorian students in Morocco, as well as the transfer of skills through the training of 80 Ivorian trainers and technical-pedagogical executives.
The meeting, she specified, was an opportunity to highlight the achievements of a longstanding and structured cooperation between Morocco and Côte d’Ivoire, consolidated by the official visits of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Côte d’Ivoire, and marked by the implementation of several structural projects in the field of vocational training.
It should be noted that this cooperation dates back to April 13, 2001, with the signing of a memorandum of understanding, before being strengthened by successive framework agreements, notably in 2013 and 2015, and then consolidated by new commitments running until 2025.
Within this framework, several major projects have been carried out, including the inauguration in 2017 of the “Mohammed VI” Multisectoral Vocational Training Center in Yopougon, Abidjan, and the launch of initiatives in the hospitality-tourism-catering and construction sectors.
As part of this visit, the Ivorian delegation toured the various educational platforms of the CMC in Nouaceur, discovering a new-generation infrastructure based on an immersive approach that promotes the acquisition of practical skills.
This visit follows the talks held on Thursday in Rabat between the Ivorian minister and the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, Younes Sekkouri, during which both parties reaffirmed their shared desire to consolidate bilateral cooperation in the fields of skills development.
