Morocco’s Ismael Saibari, who delivered a dazzling performance with the Atlas Lions during their World Cup opener, has agreed to join Bayern Munich in a €55 million (MAD 615 million) transfer deal.

Italian sports journalist Fabrizio Romano said the deal “was sealed.”

“Exactly two weeks after the exclusive story on Bayern in talks for a surprise move, Saibari joins the German champions. €55m fee to PSV Eindhoven, medical in the USA and then official. All done,” the journalist said.

Several other news outlets also reported on Saibari’s move, including Goal, which said the transfer represents a historic moment for PSV, Saibari’s current club.

The report added that the  €55 million transfer represents the highest fee they have ever received for a player, “comfortably surpassing their previous record sales.”

Saibari is one of the key players in Morocco’s squad for the World Cup 2026. The Atlas Lion scored for Morocco in its challenging group stage game against Brazil on Saturday.

He also showed he is up to the challenge with a spectacular performance and could have leveraged Morocco’s goal if his and his teammates’ attempts had been more clinical against Brazil’s defense.

Beyond Bayern Munich, clubs like Galatasaray and PSG are also setting their radar on the Atlas Lion, according to Transfer Market.

Saibari joined PSG in 2022, with his contract expiring in 2029.
