Morocco’s plea before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the legal consequences arising from Israel’s policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territory reflects the Kingdom’s continued position on the Palestinian cause, Advisor to the Palestinian President for Religious Affairs, Mahmoud El Habach, said.

This plea is in line with the unanimity, on the Arab, Islamic and international levels, regarding the establishment of an independent Palestinian State, with Al-Quds as its capital, the Palestinian official told MAP.

According to El Habach, this plea also reinforces the united Arab-Islamic position on the Palestinian issue, which will strengthen the conviction of the international community and the ICJ as to the justness of the Palestinian cause.

He also welcomed the continued support of Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency for Al-Qods inhabitants. “We appreciate the efforts made by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency and Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to consolidate the religious and civilizational status of this city,” he said.

Morocco highlighted the commitment of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairperson of the Al-Quds Committee, in support of the Palestinian cause during the hearings at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), as part of the case requesting an advisory opinion on the legal consequences arising from Israel’s policies and practices in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem.
