Morocco national football team head coach Mohamed Ouahbi said on Tuesday in Salé that the strong performances of the country’s youth national teams are a source of confidence in the future of Moroccan football.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamoura to review the Atlas Lions’ participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, Ouahbi said: “I like to look ahead to the future of the Moroccan national team, and the future will be even brighter,” adding that the performances of young players representing the national teams enable them to compete with the world’s best.
“We have a clearly defined plan, and we are not going to stop. What we want is to build on what we achieved at this World Cup and ensure that Morocco’s feat at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar is not viewed as an isolated achievement, but as proof that Morocco is doing things the right way,” he stressed.
In this regard, he recalled that the national team had not embarked on a new project but was continuing the work initiated over the past several years. He emphasized the need to keep progressing in order to further raise the national team’s standard and maintain its place among the world’s top national sides.
