Strong Winds, Thundershowers Expected in Morocco’s Eastern Provinces in Days Ahead

Strong wind gusts and thundery showers are forecast on Thursday and Friday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) said.

Strong winds (70 to 80 km/h) accompanied by blowing dust are expected on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the provinces of Figuig, Taourirt and Jerada, the DGM said in an orange-level alert bulletin.

Additionally, thundery showers (20 to 30 mm), locally accompanied by hail and gusty winds, are expected from Thursday at 2:00 p.m. to Friday at 12:00 p.m. in the provinces of Sefrou, Boulemane, Al Hoceima, Berkane, Taza, Taounate, Moulay Yacoub, Fez, Ifrane, El Hajeb, Taourirt, Oujda-Angad, Jerada, Guercif, Driouch and Nador, the weather bulletin added.
