Driven by a “far-sighted” Royal Vision, Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, has established itself as a “model of success” at the political and economic levels, both at the continental and regional levels, said Ilan Berman, vice president of the American Foreign Policy Council in Washington.
“Today, Morocco clearly stands out as a model: an economic model and a political model not only at the regional level but also across Africa,” Berman told MAP in an interview on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.
According to Mr. Berman, Morocco is moving steadily along the path to success, driven by the enlightened Vision of His Majesty the King and the consistency of the strategies implemented under the Sovereign’s leadership.
The vice president of the American Foreign Policy Council also emphasized that Morocco, under the visionary leadership of His Majesty the King, will continue to benefit from the advances and progress made over the past two decades. “There will be challenges to overcome, but this insightful Royal Vision will always be invaluable,” he continued.
Regarding Moroccan-American relations, which this year mark the 250th anniversary of their establishment, Mr. Berman was keen to highlight “the breadth, depth, and dynamism” of this strategic and unique relationship.
In an ever-changing global context, the partnership between Rabat and Washington – which is set to grow even stronger – “can truly yield enormous benefits,” the U.S. expert said.
“Benefits not only for Morocco as part of its African strategy, but also for the United States with regard to its strategic priorities abroad,” he concluded.
