Morocco’s role as an essential hub for investment in the tourism sector was highlighted at Atlantic Ocean Hotel Investor Summit (AOHIS), currently being held in Madrid.
In a press release, the Moroccan Agency for Tourism Development (SMIT) emphasized Morocco’s progress and its role as an essential hub for tourism investors, thanks to its competitive advantages.
Speaking on this occasion, SMIT Managing Director Imad Barrakad stressed that these achievements are results of a long-term vision driven by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and a structured roadmap offering a clear overview of investment opportunities and levers.
Barrakad also highlighted the promising prospects offered by the joint hosting of the 2030 World Cup with Spain and Portugal. He appealed to investors to take advantage of this momentum, by investing massively in the hospitality, entertainment and catering sectors.
SMIT’s participation in this two-day event reflects its commitment to making Morocco a first-class tourism investment destination, while supporting sustainable and competitive tourism development.
Morocco’s remarkable performance in the tourism sector has resulted in the country welcoming 17.4 million tourists by 2024, testifying to its leading position and the efforts invested in diversifying and strengthening the tourism offer.
The AOHIS is an international forum, bringing together over 200 leading players in the global tourism industry. It provides a platform for exchanging best practices, forging links with key principals and strengthening partnerships.
