Rabat Hosts 1st Morocco-Burundi Joint Cooperation Commission

Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, received, on Monday in Rabat, his Burundian peer, Albert Shingiro, on the occasion of the 1st Joint Cooperation Commission between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Burundi.

This first Joint Commission is expected to inject new impetus to further bolster the ties between Morocco and Burundi.

In this respect, the two ministers signed ten cooperation agreements, covering various fields including finance, energy, infrastructure, agriculture, health, tourism, vocational training, academic scholarships and the sharing of expertise, education, training, decentralization and local governance, as well as a new Cooperation Roadmap for the 2025-2027 period covering several sectors.

The two ministers also welcomed the privileged bilateral relations between Morocco and Burundi, marked by the seal of brotherhood and friendship thanks to the foresighted commitment of the two Heads of State, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, and His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, President of the Republic of Burundi.
