Brahim Diaz is ruled out of the Atlas Lions’ next two friendly fixtures against Tunisia and Benin, national team doctor, Christophe Boudoux, confirmed on Tuesday.
“Diaz will be unavailable, to be clear,” Dr. Boudoux said in a brief video posted on the Royal Moroccan Football Federation’s (FRMF) official YouTube channel. “His injury has not healed and will not allow him to return in time.”
The team physician also stated that winger Abdessamad Ezzalzouli remains “very” doubtful for the June fixtures.
Dr. Boudoux also revealed that an agreement has been reached with Club Brugge to manage Chemsdine Talbi’s workload while further assessing the extent of his injury.
Defenders Nayef Aguerd, Romain Saïss, and Noussair Mazraoui have also been ruled out of the June internationals due to injuries.
Morocco is set to face Tunisia and Benin on June 6 and 9, respectively, at the Fez Sports Complex.
