In the latest FIFA men’s world ranking, published on Thursday by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the Moroccan national football team has retained its 12th spot worldwide while keeping its position as Africa’s best team.
Following two friendly victories, 2–0 against Tunisia on June 6 and 1–0 over Benin on June 9, the Atlas Lions earned 4.48 additional points, bringing their total to 1698.72. However, they were unable to overtake Croatia, who surged into 10th place after emphatic wins (7–0 against Gibraltar and 5–0 over Czechia). Italy, meanwhile, slipped two spots to 11th.
Morocco remains the top-ranked team in Africa, ahead of Senegal, who climbed one place to 18th worldwide with 1635.1 points. Egypt holds on to third place in Africa but dropped two places to rank 32nd globally.
The top five positions are unchanged, with Argentina leading the way, followed by Spain, France, England, and Brazil.
Portugal rose to 6th place (+1), while the Netherlands fell to 7th. Belgium stays in 8th position, Germany moves up to 9th, and Croatia completes the Top 10.
