Head of government Aziz Akhannouch held talks with President of the National Assembly of Vietnam Tran Thanh Man on Friday in Rabat, focusing on ways to strengthen cooperation between Morocco and Vietnam, under the leadership of the two Heads of State, HM King Mohammed VI and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Luong Cuong.
On this occasion, Akhannouch praised the profound ties between Morocco and Vietnam and the shared desire to further strengthen bilateral cooperation, thereby highlighting the historical relations between the two countries and emphasizing the importance of supporting and accompanying all initiatives to bolster economic cooperation, according to a press release from the Head of Government’s Office.
For his part, Tran highlighted that his visit to Morocco at the head of a high-level delegation aims to boost parliamentary diplomacy and promote economic partnerships between Rabat and Hanoï, befitting the political and diplomatic ties linking the two countries.
Discussions shed light on the possibility for Morocco to set up a platform for Vietnamese investment in Africa, and Vietnam serving as a bridge between Morocco and countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which represents a market of more than 600 million consumers.
This meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest and to welcome the development of parliamentary relations between Morocco and Vietnam, the press release concluded.
