Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi hailed the stability Morocco enjoys, thanks to the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the development projects launched under the Sovereign’s guidance.
The Chinese top diplomat also highlighted his country’s appreciation for the Royal Initiatives aimed at the empowerment of the African continent, on the occasion of a meeting held Friday in Beijing with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, who is on a working visit to China.
China thus bears eloquent witness, as a global power, to the importance of a stable and secure Morocco in a regional environment marked by multiple security and other challenges.
Through this position, Beijing affirms the Kingdom’s commitment to Africa and its proactive policy, which responds to the continent’s development aspirations through a citizen-centered approach within the framework of active, solidarity-based, and effective South-South cooperation.
For his part, Bourita reaffirmed Morocco’s support for the initiatives launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping, namely the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, as well as the recent Global Governance Initiative, announced during the 25th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, held from August 31 to September 1, 2025, in Tianjin.
Furthermore, convinced of the relevance of these initiatives, Bourita announced Morocco’s decision to join the International Organization for Mediation (IOMed), launched at China’s initiative, and headquartered in Hong Kong.
