Heavy rain, snowfall and strong to locally very strong winds are expected on Friday and Saturday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) announced.

Accordingly, heavy rainfall, mainly over mountainous areas, with accumulations ranging from 80 to 120 mm, is forecast from Friday at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in the provinces of Agadir Ida-Outanane, Taroudant and Essaouira, the DGM said in a red-level weather alert bulletin.

Meanwhile, fairly heavy rainfall with totals between 30 and 45 mm will be recorded during the same period in the provinces of Safi, Sidi Bennour, El Jadida, Chtouka Ait Baha, Inezgane, Ait Melloul, Tiznit, Chichaoua, Al Haouz and Youssoufia, the DGM noted in an orange-level weather alert bulletin.

Snowfall above 1,600 meters in altitude, ranging from 10 to 30 cm, is also expected on Saturday from 00:00 to 6:00 p.m. in the provinces of Midelt, Tinghir, Azilal, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Taroudant and Chichaoua, the same source added.

In addition, strong to locally very strong winds, with speeds ranging from 95 to 105 km/h, are forecast on Friday from 00:00 to 11:00 p.m. in the provinces of Al Haouz and Chichaoua; from 90 to 100 km/h in El Jadida, Sidi Bennour, Safi, Essaouira, Midelt and Azilal; and from 75 to 90 km/h in Youssoufia, Figuig, Jerada, Oujda-Angad, Taourirt, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Marrakech, Rehamna, Agadir Ida-Outanane and Taroudant, the bulletin concluded.
