In accordance with the High Royal Instructions, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, received on Monday the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War of the United States of America for African Affairs, Bryan J. Ellis, accompanied by a high-level delegation on a working visit to the Kingdom of Morocco.
During the meeting, the two officials praised the excellent long-standing ties between Morocco and the United States of America as well as the high level of bilateral military cooperation, according to a statement from the National Defense Administration.
They also reiterated their shared commitment to deepening the Morocco-USA strategic partnership, as set out in the 2020-2030 defense cooperation roadmap inked on October 2, 2020, in Rabat.
Seizing this opportunity, Loudyi praised the U.S. position for its unequivocal and positive support for Morocco’s sovereignty over its entire territory, as well as the constructive efforts undertaken in this context, the statement says.
He also highlighted the various South-South cooperation and regional integration initiatives launched under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, turning the Kingdom of Morocco into a key actor for stability and an exporter of peace and security to its neighboring countries.
For his part, the U.S. official highlighted the role played by the Kingdom, under the leadership and enlightened vision of His Majesty the King, may God glorify Him, as an important stabilizing force in the face of various challenges and issues affecting regional security, and its willingness to pursue reform strategies and promote Morocco’s influence as a pivotal country for stability and peace in its neighborhood.
